Kahani Play ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is owned and operated by G & J Media Entertainment LLP. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Kahani Play mobile application and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using Kahani Play, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — your mobile number and/or email address, and any name or profile picture you choose to add. We use a one-time password (OTP) to verify your number when you sign in.
• Payment details — when you buy a subscription, the transaction is processed by a third-party payment provider (such as Google Play Billing, Razorpay, Paytm, PhonePe, Cashfree, Stripe or PayPal). We receive a confirmation of the payment and your plan details. We do not collect or store your full card number, UPI PIN, CVV or banking password.
• Messages you send us — the content of any support request, feedback or complaint you send to us.

Information collected automatically

• Device and technical data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate region, IP address and crash logs.
• Usage data — titles you open, watch time and playback position, searches made inside the App, your watchlist and download activity. We use this to resume playback, show your watch history, and improve recommendations.
• Cookies and similar technologies — on this website, to keep you signed in and to measure traffic. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and verify your identity at sign-in.
• To deliver the service — streaming, downloads, your watchlist and resume points.
• To process subscription payments and provide invoices or receipts.
• To provide customer support and respond to your queries.
• To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, piracy, abuse and breaches of our Terms.
• To improve the App, fix crashes and measure which features are used.
• To send you service messages about your account, subscription or security. You may also receive updates about new content, which you can switch off in your device notification settings.
• To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Payment providers — to process and verify your transactions.
• Hosting, content-delivery and analytics providers — who process data on our instructions to run and improve the service.
• Google Play — if you subscribe through in-app billing, Google processes that purchase under its own terms.
• Law enforcement, regulators or courts — where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
• A successor entity — if our business is merged, acquired or reorganised, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

4. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records longer to meet a legal, tax, accounting or fraud-prevention obligation.

5. Your choices and rights

• Access and correction — you can view and edit your profile details inside the App.
• Account deletion — you may ask us to delete your account and personal data by writing to kahaniplayott@gmail.com from your registered email or number.
• Notifications — you can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
• Withdraw consent — you may withdraw consent to our processing at any time. Where consent is necessary to run your account, this may mean we can no longer provide the service.

We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

6. Children

Kahani Play is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Some content on the platform is intended for mature audiences. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of the App.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials and OTPs private; do not share them with anyone.

8. Third-party links and content

The App and this website may link to third-party sites or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing information with them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will notify you in the App. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.

If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, write to us at the address above with the subject line "Privacy Grievance". We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
